Last week was not a very good week. I have said before that as soon as I got back from my trip to San Diego and SK and MH meet up in Kansas City, I have not slowed down. I'm hoping this week will be the end of all the Doctor appointments. Let me try to explain this because for the life of me I cant understand it. I have to meet what they call a spend down every month to get medicaid to pay for the medical treatment I need. So my caseworker Lauren schedules these appointments for me. They send you a medicaide card in the mail. That's fine. But if they dont send you one you have to go to Jobs and Family Services ( welfare ) to get what they call a medical eligibility paper stating just that.



So in other words. Its called jumping through hoops. And now I understand why some people get really discouraged when trying to get any help at all. I am fortunate to have a caseworker that works her butt off,not just for me but her other clients she has to work with.



I had a visit with a doctor who decided I need a physical. An ekg done in the office, which Im glad to say my heart is working just fine. He took some blood work up and ordered a chest xray and mammogram. ( which i dont mind saying I totally hate those ) the doctor in his infinite wisdom ( and I use that term loosely ) decided I needed a colonoscopy... Which I think is totally uncalled for. For those of you who dont know what it is. Only delicate way to put it is a camera up where the sun dont shine.



Now for all those who know what Im talking about. This equals having an annual done at your friendly neighborhood gynocologist. Trust me when I say these two procedures are not the highlight of anyones day. We dread those with a passion but we subject ourselves to this in the name of better health.



I'm not against better health just wish there was another way around it. But the medical profession I think gets their kicks subjecting us to this. rolls eyes. I feel like a lab experiment now if you must know lol





The surgery center, where I had to go to have this done, called Friday, with the usual questions. i e drug allergies, etc. Then I was told

to go get what will be refered to as "The Stuff" Ok no problem... I go to walgreens to purchase "The Stuff" realizing that most would probably raise eyebrows and wonder why... Im just thankful they didnt do a price check..



So Monday was decided to be the big day. I had called them back to (praying it really wasnt covered mind you) asked if it was covered, was told it was all set. So Sunday, I drank "The Stuff" mixed in gatorade. Needless to say I was ready to "go"



My luck it had seemed here in the last few months had been changing. And I was glad that my turn finally had arrived.



But as we all know, "Newton's Law" Whatever can go wrong usually has my name attached to it. Sunday and Monday morning was spent running back and forth between the computer and the bathroom. The cats had decided early on to avoid contact which I really dont blame them. Was ready to go face the procedure. Although I had some good natured teasing from a friend who just couldnt resist the temptation to tease far more than my sisters did..lol.



So Im waiting on Lauren to take me to the place and I get a call. We are sorry, the nurse said. but the procedure is not covered as your medicaid number expired on Halloween.



They picked a fine time to tell me this now. I roll my eyes, It figures I thought. I call Lauren, she says well, lets just run up to jobs and family to get the letter, Now I know Lauren is young but I just dont think she gets the idea of "The Stuff" I tell her um I dont think I can stand in line that long. Crisis adverted.. Somewhat.



They called back Tuesday, and told me, It's a go for next week, its covered. It figures.... I cant catch a break lol..

.. the Birthday disappointed, the tower is a fuckup

.. and, my friends forgot me.



.. then there was Doctor Who



.. then there was Rocky Horror: but the towere was and is still, a complete fuck up.
